Elyssa Unfred

Hello parents and students! I am excited to be your preschool teacher this year! I look forward to getting to know everyone. A fun and exciting year is ahead of us. My name is Elyssa Unfred and I would like to share a little about myself.

I graduated with a Master's in Early Childhood Unified from the University of Kansas in 2017. I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri. I have been teaching in the Fort Leavenworth School District since 2017. I previously worked in a preschool classroom in Lawrence, Kansas.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone and getting to know you. I am excited to help your child grow throughout the school year. My goal is to build relationships with the parents and students and create a positive and fun learning environment to support the development and needs of your preschoolers.

I am looking forward to helping and watching your preschooler grow in knowledge and skills throughout the year.

Both classes practiced making our letter of the week with their bodies! Can you guess our letter of the week?
This is one of my favorite projects. We went on a virtual field trip throughout our Fort Leavenworth Community. The preschoolers then decorated their car to drive and park at one of their favorite places in our community 🚘

Using our fine motor skills to decorate folders with stickers. Thank you for sending in stickers to share! The preschoolers seemed to enjoy this project 👍🏻

The afternoon class got to meet the fire fighters and see the fire truck to learn more about fire safety. The fire fighters did a great job and the students really seemed to enjoy them.
The morning class had to reschedule the fire truck visit due to weather. I will update with the new date as soon as I know. 🚒
D is for dinosaur! Students used the different shapes we have been learning about in PreK to create their own version of a shape dinosaur 🦖🦕
AM class dancing while waiting for our snack helpers to bring down the snack.  I love to see smiling faces 😀
Freedom Walk!
Thank you to the parents who walked with us!
And, a big thank you to the military who help keeps us free!
Check out the other Freedom Walk pictures in the photo albums.
*We did our own special "Freedom Walk" for the afternoon class but I forgot to take pictures :(
