Welcome to Pre-K 3

 
 
I am very excited to be part of the new Pre-k 3 at Fort Leavenworth. I look forward to meeting parents and students and getting started with a new school year.
About me:
 I graduated form Springfield College ( Springfield, MA) with a B.S in Early Childhood Education and from the University of Kansas with a M.S. in Early Childhood Special Education. I have been teaching for over 25 years. My experience has been in First Grade, Kindergarten, Early Childhood Special Education (Birth-3 years) and Special Education K-3. My passion is Early Childhood and I look forward to working with Fort Leavenworth Families to make this a year of fun and growth for your children.

PARENT…CHILD....SCHOOL

 

 

I dreamed I stood in a studio

And watched two sculptors there

The clay they used was a young child’s mind

And they fashioned it with care.

 

One was a teacher…the tools she used were books,

music .art

The  other, a parent, worked with guiding hand

And gentle loving heart

 

Day after day, the teacher toiled with touch

That was careful, deft, and sure

While the parent labored by his side

And polished and smoothed o’er.

 

And when at last their work was done

They were proud of what they wrought

For the things they had molded into the child

Could neither be sold nor bought.

 

And each agreed they would have failed

If each had worked alone.

For behind the parent was the school

And behind the teacher the home.
