Welcome to First Grade! This is my eighth year teaching at MacArthur Elementary. I graduated from Emporia State University with my Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education in 2013. I am also endorsed in teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and a Google Certified Educator. I received my Masters in Educational Technology through the University of Central Missouri in 2017.  I look forward to getting to know your student and exploring the world of first grade together!

Our classroom is ONLINE this year!! Normally--> what is "normal" in the year 2020??? Normally, our classroom environment is full of wiggle seats, balance balls, resistance bands, and more! Taking school online this year--> How will we include movement?? We will have TONS of brain breaks and movement-based activities in your remote learning space-> HOME!

A little about Miss George:
Being raised in a military family, I have discovered a love of traveling, photography, and old fashioned family time around my grandparents' farm or the Missouri State Fair! While stationed at McConnell AFB in Wichita, Kansas, my love and obsession with Kansas history grew. I knew one day I would return to the land of the sunflowers! My family is full of retired teachers with 30+ years in elementary education each. I enjoyed visiting and volunteering in their classrooms so much that it sparked my love of learning, coaching, and educating. Within our 1st grade remote experience, we strive to create a family-friendly atmosphere and would love to have your participation to help each student learn in their own unique way by setting goals and making strides to surpass them.
