hi and Welcome to our MacArthur Elementary School newscast I'm Sarah and I picture area today we have free very interesting stories to share with you these events have occurred throughout our community our first story is about when skateboards thanks came to our school next we will have the 6th grade trip to the Pompeii Exhibition at the Kansas City Union Station lastly we have our Wednesday parade in Leavenworth Kansas let's get started roll the clips on February 16th 2017 skateboard science came to MacArthur Elementary all the students teachers gathered in the gym to see Tom and Evan two skateboarders perform awesome tricks it was really cool when Evan jumped over teacher on a ramp one-trick included skateboard stacked on top of each other which they wrote on Evan and Tom talked about the physics behind skateboarding and the time it takes to Think Through each trick overall the entire Lance's very fun and entertaining for the entire school and version exact center and it'll give us our balance and balance is also Adele's inspiration so there's a lot of operation in skateboarding from like the artwork on the skateboards to the pros or the Brand's element is a for one because I'm like pretty tune with nature so that inspires me but there's also likes to Skaters like they long song that rod for enjoy that I do like really background tricks that Inspire because I do a lot of flat ground just for safety set the community he actually build skate parks in underprivileged areas that don't have a lot of money and have a lot of bad stuff going on and he also created a program called scada Stand that is in Afghan Stan and other place all over the world and Afghanistan girls are not allowed to play sports but skateboarding is so new to them that they don't think it's a sport and they're allowed to do that Tony Hawk created a school that girls could go to so they can get an education and learn to love skateboarding so I think that's one of the coolest things possible and I'm really inspired by Tony Hawk I just make the world a better place the same way he is thank you  do that to save my life okay let's move on good idea next we have the Veterans Day Parade in Fort Leavenworth so let's get moving Veterans Day is a holiday clear celebrated throughout military families all over the country it is the anniversary of the end of World War 1 Veterans Day falls on November 11th here at 4:11 we celebrate with the parade at this parade we honor those who have lost their lives so make sure to thank those who served I'm still on it to live in a country that is free me to now let's move on the Pompeii Pompeii that has 3000 800 years ago I meant to sixth graders field trip to the Pompeii exhibit in Kansas City station oh yeah the check it out  sharks on Thursday February 2nd 2017 the sorcery what field trip to the Kansas City Union Station the 6th we went to go explore the Pompeii exhibition parents are also allowed to attend attend the city of Pompeii was located by the sofas volcano Mount Vesuvius the people of Pompeii where I know right at the base of the volcano Mount Vesuvius erupted and dead is the town of Pompeii people lost their life the 6 greatest artifact straight out of city of people who lost their lives during President that was so cool I know right well that's all for this needs cast of a great day bye
